Ink Review: Absolute Brown by Waterman

Absolute Brown
Waterman Pen Co.

Waterman ink has a good reputation with regard to easy cleaning inks and when my local pen shop (Wonderpens) started carrying this brand of inks I decided to see for myself. I was very pleased with the colour of Absolute Brown and how the ink performed, see for yourself.

Absolute brown has a colour spectrum from a red tone sepia to a chocolate brown. There isn't much shading noticeable unless you are dumping ink with a flex nib. The ink dries fast and the flow is a little dry. I have noticed occasional feathering on copy papers but not worth concern over. Water will remove the ink from paper which is related to how it cleans up. This Waterman ink is easy to clean from pens and as you can see from the test plate, only small traces are visible in the roughest section.

If you are looking for a red-brown ink that you don't need to think twice when using in your favourite pen, I would recommend Waterman Absolute Brown. It performs well on a variety of papers and ease to clean. Definitely lives up to its reputation.
