Ink Review: Black Quink by Parker Pen Co.

Black
Parker Pen Co.,  Quink

Parker Quink in Black was the first fountain pen ink I ever tried. Still to this day I find myself coming back to it. This ink is a great performer and easily accessible. Don't let the fact that it can be found in places other than a specialty store tarnish the quality of this product.

Parker Black has a colour spectrum from a dark night sky grey to a deep black with a hint of blue when diluted with water. The shading is noticeable on both Hilroy and Clairefontaine papers. The ink dries fast and is relatively wet in terms of ink flow. There were no signs of feathering or bleed through just some ghosting on cheap paper. Water does effect the colour of the ink but doesn't completely remove the ink from paper. Parker Quink is easy to clean, I had a difficult time finding traces of tink on the test plate after the flush.

Parker Quink Black ink is a quality ink that may get overlooked at times and somewhat underrated in comparison to other blacks on the market. It behaves and performs well on all papers plus easy to clean. I would recommend it to be used in any pen.
